The Struggle is Real! I was walking out of the elevators when I overheard a conversation between two ladies. One was asking the other how things were, and she replied, “The struggle is real.” I nodded in agreement.
When the rent is due, and there is no food in the cupboard, but you choose to have a place to live, hoping someone will feed you, the struggle is real. When the paycheck comes and goes faster than you get it, “The struggle is real.” At the doctor’s visit, the nurse asks for the co-pay, and you write a check you hope they don’t cash right away, “the struggle is real.” When you hate going to work, but you have to pay off credit cards, you ran up because you didn’t have the money, “The struggle is real.” When your kids grow faster than you can keep clothes on them and their school always have their hands out for monies for uniforms, activities, and field trips, “The struggle is real.” When cancer zaps the strength out of you, and no one knows the emotional toll it’s taking on you, “The struggle is real.” When your baby boy goes to jail for stealing, “The struggle is real.”
But, I realize that someone else is real–God is real-er than our struggles. Through prayer, He changes circumstances. So, the struggle becomes a memory, and the God of the Heavens becomes real. If the struggle is real in your life, reach for Jesus, because the struggle is REAL!
